From UNTOWARD’s third edition of the UNDERSEAS split series comes two halves consisting of the most brazenly raw eccojams we’ve had in stock to date. The first comes courtesy of Argentinian multi-media artist and producer diberhaze. After having previously released on the label through his side-project tmsl, he proudly returns under another: computers for sale. Paired alongside the young up-and-coming talent is longtime vaporwave veteran Echo Ballard for the second half. Best known for producing under the revered vaporwave & ambient collage pseudonym TRANCE.BIZ, as well as most recently producing hypnotic, spellbinding EPs under Rosenspur, they debut on this label through their most active current pseudonym, GATEWAY VGA DREAM.

What awaits you in this split album is a mesmerising clash of old & new in a variety of ways. While the mainline albums of diberhaze see him growing increasingly sharp & dense with his sample-centric beats, under computers for sale is where he gets to experiment in the opposite direction, with loops that are smothered in low bitrates and compression, churning out digital blurs reminiscent of the 2000s era of humble media encoding. But through that haze come eccojams that range across the spectrum from solemn, ambient emotions to that same catchy punch of his best material. Contrasting that, GATEWAY VGA DREAM presents listeners with a sporadic collection of chopped & screwed samples that were made throughout the past, trimmed down to be served on a healthy platter. These cuts comprise various tints of R&B samples spun on their heads to each become unique definitions of dizzy, with textures that are equally as fuzzy as the first half, but in very dissimilar ways. Contrasts are sharper this time around, even more so than our previous instalment, and yet, the results will still worm their ways into your ears all the same.
